Pole Dancing

Berlin is a city of modernity and bright lights. The Wall museum at Checkpoint Charlie was created by Dr Rainer Hildebrant, who had worked tirelessly to collect stories about the injustices to basic human rights and the people who fought back. 9th November is the 20th anniversay of the fall of the wall. The East of Checkpoint Charlie is now a very modern shopping district screaming Gucci, Armani, Hugo Boss. Underneath a covered pavement an old lady sits with a rug stretched out infront of her covered in silk flowers and a picture of the Pope. Many people walk past, ignoring her in favour of the expensive brand names, but some stop and buy a picture of the Pope and one of her toothless smiles.

I'm now in Warsaw, having taken the Berlin to Warsaw express this morning. Tonight I am going dancing with an English man and some of his Polish contacts. This will be my first ever experience of Pole dancing.
