China, Nepal and Intellectual Museums

Today is my last day in Ulaan Baatar and Mongolia. I leave by aeroplane for Kathmandu in Nepal tomorrow, flirting briefly with Beijing airport on the way. This will be my first flight. In four weeks I have travelled on 11 trains through 7 countries - England, France, Germany, Poland, Belarus, Moscow and Mongolia. Eight countries if you count Yorkshire as a separate one, which I do of course...God's own country.

My original plans had included some time in China, but the constant moving at the start of my trip left me wanting to slow down and I am glad that I spent the extra time in Mongolia.

Yesterday I visited the unusual 'International Intellectual Museum', a crazy place full of puzzles, games and toys. Its founder is a man of great intellect and creativity who personally made over 3000 of the 4000 puzzles there. The museum is a showcase to his great mind, and it was like walking around inside his brain. I have never seen anything like it. Bizarre, intruguing, fascinating; a place born of great passion and obsession.

Before I leave I am aiming to get a hair cut, then a Mongolian Barbeque as my final meal tonight.

Did I mention it's cold here?

The weather forecast on the TV here shows minimum teperatures in Ulaan Baatar city of minus 21, maximum temperatures of minus 11.

In Nepal it is plus 10 degrees. Plus 10 degrees ... PLUS ...
